As an aside, I don't think I'd go offroading with a shell that I had bought. This one was free off craigslist, and was in such bad shape when I got it that a crack or scratch feels like nothing compared to the original repairs (Plus I have extra paint/fiberglass/wood laying around from then). If I had spent $1000+ on a colour matched shell painted with a spray gun I'd be a lot more protective. The top of mine gets beat up from parking garages, and the edges above the axe/shovel rub on trees, and when I flexed it hard last summer the clamps went through the fiberglass but I know how to fix it well enough not to mind.

X2!! Took mine to Bonnaroo from NEPA last two years, and the capped ranger made it a breeze. Bought a blowup mattress with the wheel cutouts, through a silver tarp canopy with the brown bottom over it to keep it cool, and some battery-operated fans, along with an suv tent, and we lived like kings. Oh, and the portable shower and toilet helped.

For camping up here in the PNW, I love it. I'm tall, so the high top makes it so I can sit up. I put two of the big costco dog beds in it, and some of my older bedding, and cover it all with a tarp to keep water and lookers out. I never thought about putting a SUV tent up against it, do you have any photos of that, mchale?
For content, here's a photo of mine in september at a scout camp, it rained 20+mm/day there and I didn't get the inside wet at all. Hung up my coat inside the cab and put my boots under the bed when I went inside, and they stayed dry.
