Default Some pics of my 1998 Mazda B2500

Hey guys,

Figured I would share some pics of my truck. It really isn't anything special, but it does get the job done. Haven't done anything at all with the exterior except put some stickers on it. Focused most on motor mods and making it work better. You can see the Accel coil packs, the throttle body spacer, the K&N intake, and the 2.3 headers in the pics. You can't see the JET chip, but it's in there. The headers are rusty and ugly on purpose. I wanted them looking as stock as possible since I live in Cali and we have to smog our vehicles. It passes the visual inspection no problem.

The bed extender in the pics is also a motorcycle ramp. Some of the best money I have ever spent. It's from a company called "Ready Ramps". I bought the heavy duty version that can support up to 1000 pounds I think. This little truck serves it's purpose and my needs perfectly. Added a CD/MP3 player, nothing special and added some aftermartket drop in speakers. Also added a tube style sub with a small amp.

Don't mind at all! To be honest, I wish I had your truck with my motor in it. I really don't like the chrome strips around my windows or the really small step sides in my bed. When I bought mine, I really didn't like Ford that much and I wanted a Mazda so it wouldn't say Ford on it, lol. Oh well, it is what it is. A great running little truck. Yours looks really clean!

You have the 2.5 4 in yours also right?

Well you got yourself a great truck there man. The body looks nice and straight too. Mine has a bit of character to it, lol. They were all dents and scratches that were there when I bought it. I don't care, it's my motorcycle hauler.

As long as your truck was taken care of and had the oil changed regularly, you should be able to get another 100K out of that thing! You plan on doing anything else besides the exhaust? Let me know, we have the same motor.

Thanks man! The only things I really care about on my truck is the motor, and keeping the interior clean. Every time someone gets in my truck they always say "wow, this thing is clean in here". Guess it's because I let the outside get so dirty when they get in they are shocked, lol.

Well damn, thanks guys! Nice to hear that some people appreciate the way mine looks. Believe me, the pics are making it look a lot better, lol. It's not POS by any means, but it's got character when you see it in person.

So I am curious, what is the A/C switch mod that I see people saying they have done? Someone please enlighten me.

Very clean trucks, people; wish mine was that nice...

Twinjet guy; I'm very curious about that header. It looks alot like the '96 exhaust manifold from what I can see from the picture. Did it come with the EGR fittings and pressure tubes or did you have to add those on? Any other mods to install it? Just dying to know...

The stock plenum always looked too small to me; did the throttle body spacer help noticeably? Any valve cover clearance issues?

God I wish my engine compartment was even remotely that clean...!

Thanks!

MadMaz

Hey MadMaz,

You would be surprised what a little armor all underneathe the hood can do. Give it a try, you may be suprised. Thanks by the way.

I wouldn't say the throttle body spacer helped "noticeably" but I figured what the hell, it's a cheap mod and the 4cyls need all the help they can get. No clearance problems with it at all.

The header is a stock for item like you mentioned. I didn't have to do any mods at all, just install it. It had all the sensor bungs on it as well. Here are a few links to ones that I just found on ebay. They look identical to mine. Just make sure to ask the seller if it has the proper amount of bungs for sensors and you are good.

This set is selling for a great deal! Plus they look nice.
