Default What I've done to my truck so far... (OHC, Gauge Overlays, Painted Grill)

Well I picked up the truck exactly a month ago today. In that time I've put on 1700 miles and have done quite a few little things to make my driving experience more enjoyable Here are some pictures for those interested.

Here is the truck in the condition I purchased it in. Pretty much stock except for the toolbox, rims/tires, and some power windows and door locks the previous owner added.

The first thing I did was paint the grill... It was pretty hideous with the fading gray and I thought about replacing it but decided to just paint it black.

Before:

After:

I also performed the blinker mod while doing this so the corners flash in addition to the usual blinkers and they alternate when the parking lights/headlights are on.

Yesterday I installed the OHC I picked up from a guy named Orion_134 over at rangerpowersports.

Today I installed some silver face gauge overlays.

With the parking lights off:

With the parking lights on:

I also did the relay mod so I can have my high beams at the same time as my headlights and hard wired my radar detector to keyswitch power. I plan on hardwiring the GPS as well in the same manor but waiting on the cable I purchased off ebay (has an adaptor that converts +12vdc to +5.5vdc)

I'm picking up a spare HVAC control and plan on changing the green to blue on it to match my gauges and radio. I am also picking up some dual lighted mirror visors to install. Hopefully picking up an explorer shorty center console as well and going to hack up my 60/40 seats so I have buckets with a true center console.

Still need to find a good place to mount my CB and get my antenna + mount so there will be plenty more pics I plan on adding to this thread in the future

friend at work sold it to me for $40. it's a nuvi 200w i believe.

as far as the OHC, it's the same color as my interior (light gray) not really sure why the color isn't showing up properly in the pictures. it looks like it came from the factory this way though

it's the battleship USS Alabama and can be found in Mobile. i have been there a few times and if you're ever in the area i suggest you check it out. it's pretty cheap if i recall and you get to run around unsupervised in a piece of US history quite an enjoyable experience

really? i didn't really like that black plug and the way he cut the holes for the power windows is really messy. i was considering getting doors from a ranger that had power windows/locks and rigging the connections to it so it would look better. just not sure how exactly to rewire that stuff

Since you have a 01 yours would be as simple as undo the stock one and install the mustang one

Looks good. If I were you and going to install dual lighted visors I would install an auto-dimming rear view mirror out of an explorer too. I did all three when I installed the OHC. For the mustang dome light, it comes in different models and years. I would say just hit the local JY and look for one. Here is a link for one on ebay.

EDIT: Well STL beat me too it. I don't know how I missed the 2nd page of posts.
