1978 Honda CB750K. Traded my wrecked RX7 for it. Needs carbs rebuilt and a new set of points. Im sure it needs more, but I havent gotten that far yet.

I will keep a log on here. The best part about this bike, is that it was completely free. Someone hit my other project car, an 88 RX7, the insurance wanted to total it, so he cut me a check for almost double what I paid for it. My neighbor's daughter wanted the car for her 16th birthday, so he traded me this old bike for it. I high sided (flipped, wrecked, whatever), my 89 CBR600F1 about 4 years ago, and have been itching to get back on two wheels. This will be an interesting project for me. Hopefully the wife will be as cooperative with the bike build as she has with everything else. If so, this thing will be running with a rebuilt bottom end, new head, new cam, rebuilt or updated carbs, and full exhaust around this time next year. Can't wait to get this thing apart.

She is being pretty receptive and supportive, so long as I buy a new helmet and paint the bike something not black

Im thinking Dark Green. Think British racing green, then dial it back. I'll see if I can find a swatch..

----------

Something along the lines of the House of Kolor DP29 over BC25 (green over black)

I've also considered doing closer to an olive green similar to OD green.

Im thinking: Green hard parts, black seat, black wheels, black engine w/polished highlights, black exhaust, black bars, and cups.
Only chrome will be suspension components, wheel hubs, the shiny bits on the rotors, and the bezels around the gauges and headlight. Im a minimalist when it comes to chrome. I've seen too many over the top chromed out bikes at an early age, kinda soured my taste for it. That and it is heavy.

I like the crash bar on the front of yours. You ride it much?

never, lol. i wound up with it after my uncle bought the CB750 and an '85 nighthawk 650, then ran into money trouble and i bought them for almost no $. both bikes need work, they've been in garage storage scince about 1986. carbs need rebuilt, tires, brakes, tanks need cleaned, and plenty of other stuff that i don't have time to take care of. eventually they'll go up for sale, after i sell some other bikes i've got.

but out of all the motorcycles i've got sitting here ( had 6, lol) the CB750 is my favorite.
