Default My new project

I bought this truck for $200. The four cylinder engine still run strong. Its got four on the floor. But that is comin out and a 302 5 speed is goin in. This will be my first V8 ranger swap but its goin to be fun for sure. If anyone can give me some pointers it will be much appreciated. I'm also looking for some cheap parts. I am also thinking about putting a 9" rear end under it but i don't know if it will fit. I was thinking one out of an older mustang. The truck is an '84 Ranger 2wd. If anyone wants the four banger and four speed i will sell it.

That looks like the same carburetor that is on my 300 straight 6 in the F100.

Good luck with the project!

I think so too, I had an 81 F100 with the 300 Straight 6, 4-speed. That Carb froze up on me ALL the time, in cold weather. I put 367,000 miles on that truck though(Well, me and my dad). Good luck on the project! What direction are you going(off-roader, racer, etc.)

If it's a 4 banger, it's a 2.3 liter.

It may just look similar since it's also a Carter on an in-line motor. If I recall correctly, my fuel filter is on the right side where yours is on the left.

A rear axle from a '96 or newer 2wd explorer will give you positraction and a strong axle w/ disc brakes. I have a V8 swap kit from LMC with Hedman headers and engine mounts + frame brackets, never used, still in orig. packaging $250.00 + shipping from Clinton, SC
