Yes the Magically stay in place...no it depends on the box some have 2 or 4 bolts that bolt to the bed rails...

i'm kind of torn on these. i want one to be able to throw shit in and lock it up, but i don't because of their size. anyone on here have one that doesn't go up on the bed rails?

if i get a toolbox, i dont want a huge one that comes up super high because it creates a huge blindspot (i had one in my POS f150), and if i find one for cheap its mine. the only question is, how can it be mounted without drilling into my bed? on the f150 i didnt reallly give a shit, but on this truck i do.
until then ill keep my ratchet strap and huge ammo can combo
