Thanks bro's. I'm 34, but when I was a teen in 1997 I worked at the dealer I bought my truck from. I lost that job AND that truck when I broke my leg. I never got over losing that thing it was my very first new vehicle and I loved the hell out of it...... but my job there....... was in detail
Once you learn the trick of professional detailing you never forget. All I did all day was clean rangers.
I just got the dash back in and door panels on after I pressure washed the doors. Did the jambs, did the fender wells, and did the engine bay.
As seen above I pulled the carpet and pressure washed it. It's almost dry and will go back in tomorrow.
While removing the pinstriping I made the fatal mistake of grabbing the wrong end of the heat gun while it was set on the 1200 degree setting so my finger is stinging like hell right now 4 hours later. Hopefully the Hydrocodone will kick in and take that problem away for a few hours.
I just happen to be fresh out of a major surgery so I have been on meds, thank god I have them.
I am definitely going to do spindles and a flip kit on this truck, definitely NOT doing those damn see through black headlight and tail lights. UHG..... I'll probably go with some slightly tinted clears for the front turns (just enough to take that crystal effect away so they match the headlights. I hate it when they don't match). In the back a solid red light with a clear reverse, no yellow. Tint the windows of course......
The truck they took in 1997 was pretty done up, but I don't have any finished pics from when it was dropped. I do have some from about a month after I bought it and had some graphics done.
You gotta remember this was 1997....... PERIOD CORRECT. This was the hot shit back then.
This stepside was what I wanted to buy, but my dealer only had a fleetside at the time. Now I get my red 97 back AND I get the stepside I wanted. This truck means a lot to me so It's gonna get the treatment for sure!
