used some 400 grit to scuff up the surface then hit it with some self etching primer then painted it with ford blue tractor implement spray paint. One thing I didn't do is clear coat it. I recommend clearing it so that it will last longer. As you can see it has been chipped off. Very easy to do!

If it is like the one I got it is galvanized. That is why you have to use the self etching primer. If it is made by Koch then it is galvanized.
