Default 351w in a 1988 ranger [56k warning]

Years ago, back in the mid/late 90s my dad and uncle dropped a built 351w and a built trans into a 88 ranger, they claim it did consistent 12s on street tires, wouldn't doubt it.

in late 1999 a bolt was sucked down the carb and caused it to bend a valve and a rod, my dad was in the process of moving into our current house, so he couldn't work on it, he pulled the heads and coated the block in grease, to prevent rust.

I pulled it out of the bottom of my barn today, after about two or so hours of cutting down a fallen tree and roof outside of the barn door.

Gonna fix it up and drive it, needs work on the breaks, interior cleaned, etc.

A lot of work, hopefully it'll be salvageable.

It's clearly coated in a lot of dust and bat turds, but the body's in great shape other than some bubbling around the rear fenders.

I used to love riding around in this thing when i was 8.

When i get the dust off it i'll take another picture, paint held up nice.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE square bodies, i got a 97 i drive daily, and this will make my life complete.

Gotta find a set of affordable heads, on a high school student budget, deal is, i fix it, i keep it.

Want to apologize for the high resolution, 12mpx camera and i keep the res high on purpose, but didn't think about it when i uploaded it, i'll resize it in the morning.

Thanks for the feed back, wish me luck guys!

I'm sad that all the new vehicles are rounded, they tried to bring back the classic square shape in a few retro cars, but failed. I love how square and sharp all the cars used to look...

Always wanted a vehicle people would be jealous of, almost everyone's got a loud sound system, a lot of people have drops and lifts, but not many people really have a built up classic like this...

How the engine sits right now:

Anyone have any suggestion as for heads that'll fit in this?

Was told i have to get some short ones, because of clearance issues...

Not sure where to start with restoring this, will be cleaning the grease out on Wednesday though.

Edit:
Sorry for the weird lighting and the frame around the pic, was out taking pics of stuff when i took that pic, it's like a week or so old, took the pic when it was still in the barn.

I want a windshield visor for this, they look amazing on the 80s trucks, what's the thing called that sits behind the cab? i'm not sure how to describe it.

The thing that goes on the back of the cab is called a razorback.
