Default Another Chevy thread.

I went to go pick up the heads for my Ranger today, but the shop was closed with a sign saying "Family Emergency, be back Monday". Now I have to wait until next Friday. So today, I went ahead and played with the Chevy. I painted the front grille again since the old paint was starting to flake off, and then I started removing some of the stainless steel trim shit on the side of it. Here some pictures:

Grille Before:

Grille After:

Now I got this crap to worry about:

The only thing that seems to work is Kutzit, which is basically a paint thinner, and a plastic scraper. Now, I know some of you are going to freak out and say don't use paint thinner, but I have a plan for the body line down anyway, so after getting as much removed as I can stand, I clean it off really well, and then I plan giving it a dose of claybar and wax for now.

And my next mission is my rusty bumper:

Not sure what I'm going to do, and I don't think I am going to mess with it this weekend just because I want to try to get all the stainless off for now (which is a major PITA BTW).

All in all though, I'm happy with today's progress. Still got another two days to play with it, lol.

Magnesium Chloride, which is "road salt". It and my headache rack are the worst parts of the truck. The undercarriage has surface rust, but that is it.

Hopefully I want start getting flamed like Downey just cause I have a rusty bumper, lol. I plan on putting some bed liner on it after I sand it down to bare metal.

This winter, I had to rewire the tail lights on the work truck 4 times due to them going out. Each time, the ends were corroded away even after using an anticorrosion paste. The shits bad.

Well, the work trucks have nothing to protect the wiring underneath, and the spray from the tires just kills them. And my Chevy is an on road only truck and I hardly ever wash it in the winter because as soon as I leave a car wash, it's dirty again, but now I plan on spraying it down a little more often then I did, lol.

And honestly, the bumper wouldn't have looked that bad, but I took some time out of my day to chip away some of the paint just to see how deep the rust was. It was getting pretty bad though. Here is what it looked like when I bought it:
