I used to do this in Montana, if he's in Minnesota, he's good! 36 inches of ice will hold a Ranger no problem

there is no lake in the TC area that has 36 inches of ice on march 29th. In fact most lakes are closed to vehicle traffic after march 1st, for safety reasons and those 50* days. I LOL at people who think all lakes in MN freeze to 36+ inches. most only freeze to around 20 inches, which is still plenty to hold a full size vehicle.
In fact, most people who drive a car on any lake in the 9 county metro area after march 1, could get a ticket or a warning from the local police.
Stay safe!

I don't even know of any lakes here in Montana that freeze up to 36 inches. The popular ice fishing lake here in the area (Echo Lake) freezes to 14 inches at the max, and it's enough to hold the weight of a car (at least I've seen some out there). The other one (Foy's Lake) freezes to about 10 inches and I say a dude in a super duty out on it, though he wasn't far off the shore.

Really? That's crazy! That's a pretty big lake for ice to get that thick on.

It was back in one of the coulees and one spot we hit out in the middle. It may have just been where it piled up, that was just my experience with it.
