Default New Project. 88 FC

Well, I got my other projects done, so I suppose its time for a new, and much more involved one. I grabbed this beautiful 1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible for $300. Its got a few issues, that you will see, and a few that you won't, but for $300, Im not gonna complain.
So, here are the pics:

And my least favorite photo: Coolant

Plans:
13B turbo: The engine in it needs a new front rotor housing and intermediate plate. may source another engine and use it. It runs, roughly, but enough to drive down the road. Apex seals are probably due for replacement, but it has pretty decent compression.
TII transmission: the n/a transmission wont be able to hold the extra power
Possibly upgrade the turbo to a Garrett T04 or go ballsy and find a gt35r
keeping the vert rear end. 4.10 LSD.
Megan racing or corbeau seats, momo/sparco wheel, replacing the radio panel with all the crap on it with a carbon fiber panel that is flat or one that allows for a radio and digital logicon (hvac unit) and putting gauges for trans temp, fuel pressure, and oil temp in the dash.
2 pod pillar for Air/fuel and boost
2 pod mount on I/P cover for exhaust gas temps
replace all the rust with new sheet
new paint
full Greddy exhaust
Drive it like a bat out of hell.

The GT35R is based solely upon the missus giving the okay. She is letting me turbo swap because I am letting her have her expensive ass wedding. So in order to justify a gt35r, I have to give something big. Like pink paint in the bedroom or something along those lines.

It runs, just not very well. Ive got a laundry list of stuff I need to do to this before the swap. The very first of which is new battery, flushing the junk out of the water jackets and new plugs/wires. The seats are really effed under those 5 year old covers.
And to show how much the previous owner cared, he had the car for 4 years, put 4k miles on it, it started acting stupid, he took it to a shop, they gave him a ridiculous estimate, and he let it sit for like 3 years. I dropped the tank and cleaned out more nastiness than I ever care to talk about. Gonna be a bear of a project. Ill keep it on here mainly because I like this forum and some of the RX7 guys are biggoted jerks.

I do too
speaking of which i ran into a guy at walmoart last night with the same ranger as me just without all the mods. and he looked at my truck and told me he wants to make his truck look like mine.(which isnt hard to do really) but it made me feel good about all my hard work and busted knuckles under that truck

but i wouldnt mind getting a rx7 like that so i can compete with my friend on the streets cause he blows my ass away in my truck. he has a nissan 280ZX i think.. its not a 300Z or a 240 so its in between those numbers.

They hold up just as well as any other engine, but they do not play around when it comes to maintaining them. You do it right, or it will leave you stranded. Its a tuner's vehicle, not a civic. Ive built a few v8s and they are fun and whatever, but I bought my rotary to have something unique. Where I live, there are 3 that I have seen in my life. One was a newer style FD, an earlier FB, and another FC lives down the street, but his is a hatchback.

Cool car man! Looks like it had potential.

But what I really wanna know about is that sexy piece of Oxford White/Bright Red F150 in the background. My dad used to have one just like it. That's the only amount of red I can tolerate on any vehicle.

That giant heap needs a rebuild like whoa. Burns I think a quart or more a week. smokes like a chimney and smells terrible. It isnt mine. It belongs to my neighbors son, who loves parking his truck in my trucks parking spot. :/

YES!! I love that model!

It's not a typical fanboy car either (major points, go direct to bonus stage!)
