That's the plan. I still want a newer touch screen stereo too, but everything will come in time.

I might look small and yes, I'm a chick, but I shoot, throw, hit, and hunt. I highly suggest you don't mess with my truck!

I think you "upgraded" in terms of features you wanted... but the internals of your stock radio were made by either Bose or Pioneer, depending on the manufacture date of the radio unit. I wouldn't consider a VR3 to be an upgrade over a Bose or a Pioneer, in terms of audio quality.
Ok, dumb girl here, but I've been going over this statement in my head for a few days now and I just don't understand how changing the stereo unit would majorly decrease the audio quality. I'm not trying to be stupid, I just really don't get it. Doesn't a new stereo just hook right in to what you already had, but simply change the way you use it?

Your headunit controls how good your speakers will sound. If your headunit is pumping out crap, so will your speakers. X1000 if you replace the stock speakers.

AH!! Thank you! I do plan to change the speakers, in the future, but I'll probably be getting the stereo first so when I go to get one what exactly am I looking for that will indicate how well it will play through the speakers?

Power wattage's, brand, all that good stuff. I'd ask the audio gurus in the audio part as I'm still a newb at that but my stereo does bump very nicely
