I think you "upgraded" in terms of features you wanted... but the internals of your stock radio were made by either Bose or Pioneer, depending on the manufacture date of the radio unit. I wouldn't consider a VR3 to be an upgrade over a Bose or a Pioneer, in terms of audio quality.
Ok, dumb girl here, but I've been going over this statement in my head for a few days now and I just don't understand how changing the stereo unit would majorly decrease the audio quality. I'm not trying to be stupid, I just really don't get it. Doesn't a new stereo just hook right in to what you already had, but simply change the way you use it?
