Default 2005 Ranger Edge 3.0L V6 - With glasspack and CAI mod

Just bought the new magnaflow glasspack (the longest one they had, same exact length as the stock muffler), 2 clamps, 1 hanger, 1 coupler/adapter, and 1 flex exhuast pipe that came with 1 clamp. Fit perfectly. Cost : ~50-60$

Then went and bought spectres medium size cone filter, and their coupler/adapter; sawed and sanded off the tube of the stock intake box to fit the coupler/adapter, put together and wham, works. Cost : ~35$

Truck photo, all washed nicely

Rate/hate.
-PS I know that the cold air intake has no gains, but what I plan to do with it, will get gains, alot more than the stock filter.

What is the purpose of using the flex pipe?

Seems that would rust faster then regular pipe. Also if you hit a rock or something off roading it.

I dont off road though, I like to think of it as a sporty truck. So it stays on asphalt lol.
The flexy pipe is because when I cut-off the muffler, the one end towards the back comes into the muffler at almost an angle. When fitting the glasspack, it sat at abit of an angle, so I got flexible exhuast (sold in store as exhaust flex pipe, so I suppose its supposed to take the heat) to finish the job, and it worked out beautifully. Even though flex pipe was used, it keeps its position well. Its not that flexy, just enough to get an angle a little.

The sound is just amazing; the whistle of the intake with the grumble and toughness of the glasspack is a nice combination.
