That is a nice looking ranger. I'm used to seeing the old ones all rusted out!
Good find. I would have bought it for that!

Re: My $350 87 Ranger xlt
Hell yeah, who ever painted it took their time. It was originally black. They left the bed and the engine bay black. But everything is painted, door jambs, looks like they even took the bed off to paint all the way down. Needs a new steering column, its all busted up.
Its going to be my d/d until I finish my project boost on my civic. I figure Ill keep her around in case/when I blow up my civic... Im going to be changing some gaskets and stuff on her but ive read the oil pan gasket, the engine needs to be lifted out a little, so Im just going to yank her out and possibly rebuild it all or if not, at least change every gasket on the motor and clean it up. And it came with a cd player and a brand new clutch installed....

Im from NJ. Its another reason why I like living in the south. Cars rust from the top down here. Unless you live beachside then it'll be a rust bucket.
If I keep it for a while I think ill do a little lift kit and some bigger tires.
Ill be posting up my findings when I start pulling her apart. Prob this weekend coming up. Im still contemplating putting new rings, bearings in her while I have her out. Never opened up a ford motor. Are the bearings just a standard size in these things? Cause honda have like 5 different color codes to go by to get the right ones for each journal.

Re: My $350 87 Ranger xlt
So I have the whole motor torn down to just a few bolts and ready to pull. Ill be pulling it out tomorrow and see what the insides of this grease bucket look like.
