Unhappy Accident Mod

Yea it happened, Sunday night I played bumper car with some one coming home from Trevors (Trepaul86) house. It sucks, but what can you do it happens. I got a couple quotes from body shops and it looks like 1600-2100 to get fixed. Anyway onto the pics

Sorry bout your RIDE, if it was mine I would have some crazy graphics painted over the damaged area, I would definitely consider painting something in that area for cheaper cause red's cost way to much

damage is minimal, the labor and product cost is for
bright reds are bout $400 for a pint of paint, plus body work (I see dents) and re-shaping the body line on the door (sanding sucks) then prime n re-sand.. The painter will have to blend color, maybe as far as onto hood and bed side, depending on how far he chases the blend, then clearing and buffing hood, fender door, cab section and bedside... also having to remove emblem, fender cap, mirror, door trim/weather stripping.. taping off engine bay, door jamb, cab, inside bed... it's a lot of work guys to do it right

I wouldnt touch it for under a $1000.

Thanks Terry, I thought it was about right, they have to pull my bed and blend to the back of the cab and front side of the bed, and I think they said they were going to take the fender off so there aren't hard tape lines?

thats true, pulled bed on mine.. always do it right the first time

No prob, but at $1600-$2100.. I wld def make sure it is done right.. and if you're not satisfied take it back.. thats kinda high.. If you wr closer I wld hook you up. either repaint or something custom for way less than $2000

Gah why can't you be closer! haha Honestly I'd keep it the same red and shave the emblems and third brake light and that's it.

You can buff the traded paint with some wax. As for the little chiped paint, either a stop at the local autozone for touch up paint or like you said, have someone paint it.

if insurance co. is involved wait till they get their own pics first
most of the markings will come off with wax or compound, until you get "the fix" situated
NOTE: be sure and tell the paint shop that you applied wax to area, it will cause chemical adhesion problems (wax n grease is a painters worst nightmare)

yea I know most will buff out but I want it fixed right the first time, if that means my insurance rate goes up a little so be it, I also show it in the summer at a couple local shows so I want it fixed to my standards.
