Default Dynamat Installation Pics

Here are some quick pics. I'm halfway done. I have only cut myself one time so far which is a personal record for any type of installation. Ill provide some commentary later and perhaps some more pics of the other door as long as I'm not bleeding too bad to use my camera phone.

Too much. For 2 doors and a back of cab's worth it was around $90. Its nice, goes on pretty easy....just a pain in the ass to cut and get lined up. Plus the top side is kind of aluminum type material, and it will cut you if you are not careful.

mmmm i like it, i always wondered if it would doo more good if it was behind the door panel tho, like on the door skin closest to the outside... but i guess it would be a huuuuge PITA to get it in there...

Don't know yet. I'm about 3/4 of the way done...I'm just taking a break.

Ill report back on the difference later in this thread. I'm OCD, so if there is a difference Ill be able to tell immediately.

Not sure about the floor. I'm sure it would be worth it if road noise bothers you.

na road noise doesnt bother me, i would do it for the stereo sound tho. some parts of having noise are good like you can hear possible problems better while in the cab, like a noisy wheel bearing or squeaky belt.

I rushed through the 2nd door so i didnt take anymore pics...and I'm going to skip the back cab installation b/c its getting freaking cold in my garage.

I haven't driven it yet, nor turned the stereo on, but its weird....I can already tell by the sound of my door shutting that its...different.

Now I gotta put in my headlights, so after that ill report back on the sound difference.

Looks good so far.

Back in the day, a lot of car audio nuts would use a spray liquid sound deadner inside the door panels & even drill holes in the A pillars & spray in the spray foam insulation.
Both were very messy & time consuming, but they had good results.

Just went on a test drive. My stereo and speakers sound better than ever!!!!! Nice deep bass, nice crisp treble....no rattles at all. Whats cool about it is the bass is so much deeper. Instead of a bop accompanied by a rattle, its a boom....and it vibrates the seat. Kinda turns me on. LOL.

Anyways, I am very pleased with my installation. Cut myself 3 times...but all in all it was a good night. I would have been finished earlier but I had to take a dinner break and find the band-aids. My truck sounds better than ever!!

I've also noticed that no air comes through the door handle anymore. ;-)

Oh.....FYI, Dynamat will dull a utility knife blade like a mother effer. If you put some in, be sure to have a few spares.

Good to know. I work with mastic tape all the time at work so I know about the dulling parts of it. I wonder if that would be a good sound deadener...
