true that. i got an appointment with Rust Check on the 22nd to protect the metal from accumulation of winter goop. I've had it done to all of my vehicles. My only concern wud be that the accumulation would start to corrode the steps if left untreated.

That's great Kurt. So not quite a week after the accident. For a 2008 you lucked out on such low mileage. Wish I had bucket seats like that! 1st thing you should do is get rid of the GMC/Nissan sticker and license plate thing. At least it is a sticker...a dealer near here actually 'Rivets' their ugly emblem on vehicles they sell..new and used!!! So now you have lots to do. Good that you took pictures of it before you started changing anything. I've no idea but hopefully the 2008 has some changes from your previous one which you like as well? Here are some links to genuine service manuals. I have the 2 volume set for my 2002. Notice the 1st link..pricey but that's what they can go for.
http://www.diyrepairmanuals.com/products.asp?cat=2590
This link is for slightly used for less. Backpage once to see more like the wiring diagram book.
http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/sit.../FCS12542081-2
Google for more..may find them on eBay too..like I did. Now these don't get much into how to do things like 'oil changes for dummies' since they are meant for mechanics at a dealership. But they are understandable and even have info on things like checking a frame after an accident for true-ness, etc. Really only for owners who intend to have their Ranger a long time. You can buy downloadable E-books but they mostly want over 10 bucks. This 2 volume set for 2008 weighs 8 lbs it says. Mine weigh 9 or 9.5lbs. Glad you got another so quickly. Sadly that is not so for at least one other I can think of..same thing Ranger scrapped from an accident.
