2200 pound trailer before I loaded a 500 pound hot tub. Was a heavy load starting in first facing up hills lol.

Yea I was over the rated load for a manual trans I believe, not sure, but it handled fine. Pulled well and isn't that big of a deal if you can work a clutch properly.

yeah, the clutch is the weak point. But there's no reason you shouldn't be able to toe 2500 pounds. I think a 3.05 speed with 3.75 gearing is rated for 28

I would never have hauled such a load if I were unexperienced with a clutch and for that vehicle. Starting up a few hills wasn't fun but it grabbed plenty and pulled fine. Flat land was no issue at all for first. These trucks are capable but I also would not have gone up much more in weight due to no trailer brakes.

I feel like anything with 2 axles shouldn't be attached to a ranger lol

Sounds like Rangers should stick to groceries then huh lol

It's funny because I didn't intend to pull the trailer, my parents Jeep Wrangler 4 door was denied because it was a soft top.

that's by far from how some people on this forum feel. Anything bigger than a 2x4 needs to go in a full size right?

I understand what the other guy was saying about 2 axles lol, but some people make it seem as if a ranger is incapable of being used for a truck. A lot of the guys on here just recommend letting a full size do the job.

Anything 6000 and under a ranger could safely do, above 7k is full size territory
