Got a deal on an older slide in pop up camper for my 1993 XLT. Interior is musty as you'd expect but in great condition otherwise ... one of those one owner seldom used kinda thangs. All the appliances work, which is a bonus. Exterior shows usual weathering but seals up tight courtesy of some decently done silicone patching around the seams. Canopy is in great shape as well ... no cracking anyway. Some minor water stains, but I'm told a bit of KillzIt and fabric paint should fix it up purty.

So, like ... what all's involved in mounting this? I assUme duck tape ain't gonna do it ...

Looks like most get tied to the rear bumper (not sure how) and a couple mounting points either on the chassis or the front of the bed ... also a mystery to me how exactly that's done or what parts are required to make it happen ...

* I also plan to beef up the shocks and add a rear sway bar, both of which are needed anyway.

PS ... I see a couple complaints about having to drop the gas tank to install a Helwig sway bar. The OEM part is above the axle, the Helwig mounts below. Any reason to actually remove the old one if it's not in the way?

http://expeditionportal.com/build-of...mper-in-a-box/ worth a look if you're starting to get a bed/storage ready for your box. This guy clearly took it to the next level.

It gave me an Idea for my new setup, I might have some drawing later. Im also testing temp on the exhaust to possibly use it instead of the coolant as a heat source for hot water on demand with a coil of copper pipe wrapped around it.
