Not that bad.
----------
What kind of Velcro did you use? Mine seems to not want to stick for my tent.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
I got 2" industrial strength Velcro from Joann's fabric. It holds really well.
any ideas for locking the inside?

I think he means so you can lock it from the inside while camping.
I thought about it once and all I think you'd need to do is just drill through the metal flap the that turns to lock the glass on the T lock and just put a cotter pin through it while you're inside for the night.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
Yeah locking from the inside. I looked into it for drilling a hole like that. But it doesn't look like that will work for mine. I'll post a picture when I get home from work. Did you do that to yours?
----------
I'm 6 feet and I fit fine in mine. But I also don't have all that stuff.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
This is what I have. Thinking I might pick up two small c-clamps and clamp them on just above the latch. That way it blocks the latch from turning. Or at least will make enough noise to wake me up.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
Guess I'll join.
----------
Snagged it for $100.
Need to figure out something about the locks, guy didn't have a key. Guess I'll have to get a locksmith to make one. Also need to hookup the 3rd brake light.

Ok I thought that's what you meant, idk I don't ever lock mine. I figure I've never locked a tent so.

That's true. But have you ever posted a tent in a wal mart parking lot? I'm doing a road trip where I'm basically just driving for 5 days. Not so much camping this time.

Know what I love about when someone gets a camper shell?
1) the lock never works.
2) the keys are missing
3) its never the right color
4) the third brake light does not work
Like is it the same guy who ruins every camper shell and keeps selling them to everyone? Hahaha
On the bright side if you have a center handle type latch with the two extending arms, and your latch is broken like mine where the extending arms are no longer connected to the handle, you can lock the glass from inside by manually sliding one of the bars over to catch the inside pillar of the cap. And if you don't already have one I would suggest getting a tailgate lock because you can just pop the glass open by lowering the tailgate lol
