Paid a whopping $50 off craigslist for my cap. Badge on the back says raven, which i've never heard of. Really sturdy and came with clamps, yakima roof racks, and keys. Also has a working interior light and 3rd brake light wired through a 4-pin trailer light connector off of the rear brake light. Contemplating whether to bed line it to match my trim, or go gloss black like the rest of the truck. Hard to tell, but it's actually dark blue. Any input?

With the tube I don't see how it would fail. I could see a rubber washer cracking and falling but the tube part would just be there to stop rubbing

Bed liner would look cool.

If you can get me dimensions I can cut up some washers out of silicon rubber or butyl rubber and send it your way. My investment into your idea because I want to do this as well and you're the guinea pig lol

True. I just meant exactly that, the rubber would fail and then the mount wouldn't be tight.

I may take you up on that. I'm gonna try and have it done before the trip home in 2 weeks. Money is tight right now so it's gonna have to be a budget build.

Well I was off school on Veterans Day, so I went over to an old Vietnam vets welding shop and started having some brackets made. Only took 30 minutes but listened to him talk for 2 hrs haha, anyway at the end I asked what I owed and he said don't worry about it. Well dumb me didn't pay attention to the swing arm close enough, we had made two L brackets out of 1 1/4" flat steel 1/8" thick then cut a nipple down to size and welded that. Meant to fit a 7/16" bolt. Well the top portion of the swing arm had another piece welded into it and I didn't realize that till we had cut both the original brackets off. All in all gotta make new brackets with wings on em to go over the tops of the swing arm. May just wait till I go home next week and have the old man help me out with them.

Swapped my soft roll-up non-hinged tonneau for a solid LEER 700 hinged fibreglass tonneau, then sold it to install the LEER 100XL truck cap. Not many photos of a silver FX4 with a cap on the internet at the moment. Not fond of the LEER 100R cap.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Nice topper, I like how big the windows are and youd have to use a cantilever setup to keep all that space back there... Id like to do that myself but will see.. Too many projects as usual in my case.

Bedlined my camper shell. Used 3 cans of rustoleum spray on. Turned out pretty good.
