I've used 14 guage speaker wire for most of my stuff. But my interior red led light I t-taped on my power like for roof lights. And used 18 ga for that. I'm just curious as to how you guns run your wire and what wire yaa use.

**Let it be noted that all my lights are minimal draw.**

Agreed on what it's needed for. I would say the majority of my stuff is 14g stranded. Some 12g. And my fridge power is a 10g wire. I also buy my stuff at Home Depot, the coating on it is pretty intense and I have never had a cut and worn wire. Also I use a an aftermarket sea blue fuse box and I drilled a 1 1/2" hole in my cab and bed to run wires through. Then used a rubber grommet to insulate/protect the wires.

Like he said .. 12 and 14 gauge stranded southwire brand, the coating is gas and oil proof. For my switches I use 20ga wire since it's only signal voltages for relays and less than an amp current draw

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
Looking at all these shells on these trucks has me looking for one. My question is this. I measured my bed and it is 6 ft 3 in long by 5 ft wide. All I can seem to find on CL for a reasonable price are ones that fit a 7 ft bed. So would one of those fit on my bed or would there be serious overhang? New to the whole shells so any help would be appreciated.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
Haha sorry I hate to say it but really? Yes there would be a 9" overhang?
Just keep shopping around. Best thing is to find one and test fit it and see if you
Like how it matches up.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
Well I finally got got my topper and it is in good shape other than missing a side window. But for $40 its fine with me. Anyone know how much replacement windows are. Its ARE brand and is a lift up window with 2 handles to lock it down. Also how much does it cost for new shocks to hold up the rear window, and can a local hardware store that makes keys make replacement keys since it had none with it?

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
You will have to get new locks with keys...u cant just get new keys unless u know the key number. Most places just sell them as sets.
As for the gas shocks that hold up the window, you can order new ones from Mcmaster carr.com just need to know the size and info.
A new window will be tricky. First check your local topper dealer then check with an auto glass shop.
Should be maybe at most $100 for new glass.

Re: Rangers With Camper Shells/Topper Thread
Looks good, my stupid canoe project aint going as well as Id hope but what can you expect with 3 years old fiberglass resin but I need to get better at it before I tackle the topper project. Going for a week off on Vancouver Island next week and hopefully renting my house there so I can finance more projects. I just ordered a diy solar panel kit so will see if I can make that work with the topper maybe.
