Finally scored a cot that will fit in the truck bed but still allow me to use my camping set up.

Actually my wife took the picture and the first thing she said was "looks a little unstable" so I was a little let down. I got it stabilized though. One more thing to tweak then paint the frame black. May cut up a seabag and replace the material.

I think I got it down to a pretty sturdy system. Painting it while I study for finals.

When I first got the truck. Traded it for a soft tri-fold because I couldn't see too well with it. Will eventually get one with side windows for camping tho.

I camp in mine last month and I realised that with the bed base over the wheel I really dont have much headroom left, trying to figure out a way to maybe raise the canopy when I setup camp, maybe like an extra foot or so.

That would be cool. Maybe like a hydronic lift mounted in each stake hole. With a touch of a button it will rise/lower.

Thats a good idea, but might be out of my budget for now tho, I wonder if like 4 mini-van rear door actuator might be enough since they have a nice size wrecker here.
