Run back through the thread. A lot of us have done some pretty extensive modding to ours.

Second, yellow top or red top and does it matter what model optima? Last, I just removed the old lights I had inside the cap and out in led's as well as a red one in the cab, you say the red is a novelty item but actually it is perfect for camping because red won't kill your night vision and also it can't be easily seen(in case you are camping somewhere where you don't wanna be seen) so basically haha what light system is that? You have a link?

Looks good man, I'll toss some pictures up soon of updates. Truck has taken a seat on the back burner since I got married. :/ always good to see some of the stuff you come up with.

P.s. have you ever considered doing a cab through conversion? I've been tossing it around for awhile just figured I'd get your thoughts

----------

Your not allowed to post pictures of your truck man. Haha everytime I get mine like I want it, a picture of yours floats in and I'm like damnit! My truck has more potential. Everything right down to the Colorado plate. My wife and I may be moving there and on our list of reasons that plate made it on my list. Haha
Alrighty lets see if I can answer the first round of questions!

NO I am not running the stock alt anymore; I did the BIG THREE upgrade and installed a 250A alternator from Alterstart, along with a Optima Yellowtop Battery and hooked it all up with some 1/0 gauge wire from KnuConceptz.

I have a Yellowtop in my truck. This one is designed for longer output and constantly being drained/recharged. I believe the red is super high CCA to start hot rods and stuff lol
The yellow puts out I think 950 CCA and 50 Amp-Hours.

And while the colors are a novelty having dozens of colors and strobe mode, I did like the red light for that exact reason, and when I was camping I slept in the truck and used the red light on dim when I was in there haha. I just ordered them off ebay so quality is questionable at best but the old LED's I had back there were also ebay. They didn't stop working, I blew them up lol
If you have any specific questions about the lights or the setup (wiring and such) just let me know I'd be happy to share.

Nah never considered a blow-through. I actually hated my cap and sometimes still do (like when I hit my head on the ceiling crawling inside). It was on there when I bought the truck and my options were keep it on or sell it. I figured I would hold onto it and when I move out I'll have a place to keep it. It is a very useful item, I just hate that my truck doesn't look like a pickup truck, and I can't just toss things in the bed.. its a love/hate relationship. But once I have my own place I'll be able to rig up something where I can get the cap on and off in minutes and then basically have two vehicles. So I had to mod my cap until I convinced myself it was cool enough to keep.
If you never plan on removing your cap then a blow-through might work for you. And since you have already removed your headliner and floor I don't think you would notice the difference in interior (clean/cozy cab vs rugged and dirty bed)

Here are some links for ya:
Alternator - http://storesense1.mysuperpageshosti...ail.bok?no=514
This is the one I ordered, but if you've got the 4.0 SOHC I don't think this works..

Wire - http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...odID=KCA0BL-50
This is the wire I used. It comes in different colors and they also have solid copper wire but its twice as much money

Color LED's - http://www.ebay.com/itm/180992529478...84.m1439.l2649

not sure if that last part was directed at me or not since I have NJ plates..lol

Thanks man. Always appreciate the input. I just joined up with Expedition Portal Forum. I'll be doing a platform build up this summer.
---------------------------------------------------
Side note, got stuck for the first time today. I was flipping out too cause I was on base and not supposed to be back there. I woulda taken more pictures but I was not in a good mood. Anyway a jeep got me out with a 5,000 lbs winch. I have mud in everything including the drivers door panel :] wash time.

Hey at least you drove away after the Jeep yanked you out!

Its all fun and games until the tow truck shows up..

Hydrolocked it and bent a rod. After an hour we finally got it started again, drove it back through the first few puddles back to the main path and then it just blew up lol
There was a hole in each side of the oil pan

I was having fun at the time and I still look back and laugh, I just wish the damage had been a LITTLE less haha

haha yep that's the "OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh............... ..shit." look

And yes that pretty much wrecked the engine. Got a rebuilt one put in. Grand total for the Jasper engine, installation kit [new wires, water pump, gaskets, plugs, PCV valve, belts, hoses, filters, etc], AC recharge, labor costs, and of course tax, was $4500. Which is how much I paid for the truck to begin with lol. Lesson learned!

Pass! Haha I learned my lesson. Which sucks too cause I hate mudding in my truck because to me the fun to clean up ratio isn't enough. I just like hitting up trails but me ring dumb today hit a brand new one up after. Down pour!

haha yea I'm not one for mudding either; I get within 100 feet of mud and I get stuck! And like you said the cleaning up is a pain. Sand and dirt you can spray off. Mud you gotta get in there with like a toothbrush and a pressure washer. Now get yours cleaned up and lets see a current setup!

Do you have a 2 or 4 door cab? I'd say that the supercab storage box is one of my favorite mods but it really only works on a 4 door..

4 door. I'll consider that too but I still like the one jump seat in the back. Sold the other one and the. Sub and what not is on the other side
