And Tanner, I actually bought mine thinking it was black....then the paperwork came out and it said "blue". I was like "okay?" LOL.
All two of us lol

Ya a lot of people seem to think that, at night I have to take a flashlight to the truck to prove to people its not black.

Anyways its supposed to rain in the next couple of days! Super excited to have the truck legitimately dirty again, its been a long time. Im not to keen on the desert dirty look, and im to lazy to wash it.

I just end up taking pride in driving a purple truck. Even gave it a rather vulgar nickname because of it. HAHA. And really, park it next to Sonic Blue and tell me which one is more purple....

It really is a gorgeous color when all cleaned up and shined up. Especially when it's fresh new paint. Not so much when it's scratched nose to tail like my body and bedsides are. lol.

Wow this thread is awesome. Finally saw that black rims actually do look good on a DWB ranger. I love looking at all the pictures and seeing what you guys have done as far as mods go. Can I please get some help with my front? Getting tired of the chrome. I know that I wanna get either a brush guard or bull bar. Fog lights and less chrome. So I was wondering if I could get some ideas from you guys (it doesnt have to be ideas for the front, any ideas are great, but i really want ideas for the front).

Plastidip is a quick and cheap fix for your chrome. I am personally not a fan of the 2000 year front end look, so I'd suggest a front end swap to 01+ but that can get expensive.

Ebay for these headlights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACKED-OUT-...-/330947178249

or these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-2000-Fo...-/300867962480

Grab a 4x4 paintable grille shell like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-2000-FO...-/281182564326

http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-99-00-FOR...-/110610112373

And paint the thing DWB on the outside. Leaving the "inside" dark gray. This is more easily seen on the chrome grille link above...horizontal bar and "background" left dark gray. Leave bumper chrome til you do something with wheels. Can't have too much black on DWB 'cause it looks gross. See below...

Truck looks CLEEEEEAN and deep! I'll have to try that Meguiar's Black in the spring after a thorough cut and buff job.

BUT DUUUUUUUUUUUDE. PLEASE. You NEED this product. That valence is naaaaasty.

Yeah. Darkest my truck got. Niteshade corners, all black wheels, black rack, black box, bedlined black bumpers, black grille, etc. I just find a blacked out DWB to be kind of well, gross looking after doing it to mine and seeing in person. I'm MUCH happier with a mixture of both black parts and shiny parts. DWB takes very well to chrome and black accents. But not all black accents. I can keep going on about how satin black flares are too glossy or how DupliColor Trim Black is far too glossy compared to SEM Trim Black on this color. blahblahblah. I've typed enough. lol.

I'm kind of anal when it comes to a flowing, good looking theme....and making things look right and feel they belong. Might be a touch of OCD. It can be a character flaw of mine sometimes.

Yea I'm gonna work on it when I'm home on vacation in December, this past year has not been kind to that valence, its gotten progressively worse and I was actually trying to decide what to use to paint it.

Honestly, you CANNOT go wrong using SEM. It ain't cheap but the results and performance is worth it. Just remember to properly prep it with 300g, wax and grease remover, SEM plastic primer, etc.
