Default Pics from today and my Veteran's Day Contribution

Pics From Today... Help me decide which picture is the best, out of these 5
1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

I made this cross almost 6 years ago for my senior project in Vo-tech. It was Unveiled on Memorial day of '05 But they use it in all the services they do at the cemetery, including Veteran's Day

its 8"x8" thick, 9' long, 3'wide. There's 3' in the ground with 8 bags of concrete holding it in place. It has 4 pieces of re-bar in it. Its not going anywhere for a long time.

Good job on the cross! But can you explain a little more? PS:I voted for #5. The cross is not on a grave I'm thinking..at a veterans grave area/entrance? Is someone like your father buried there? Thanks so much for posting such. Here for the 1st time there was no veteran of the 1st W.W., in Remembrance Day activities (can't say 'celebrations' or such for dead/wounded/maimed soldiers)..in Ottawa. Sad...20 years from now the WW2 vets will be pretty much all gone. But hopefully not forgotten!!!! You have done more than most to prevent that...totally awesome in the most heart-felt way!!! My dad fought at Caen,France in the CDN army a few days after D-Day..he survived..was wounded...emotional scars were permanent though I think...I never really knew him...he went to a veterans hospital for the rest of his life when I was about 8 years old.

I always review sent E-mails,etc.,..usually to be bumbed-out by then obvious TYPO's. Just did the same here and noticed the pic I voted for was the 7th..poll gives choice of 1-5. I hope a few of the earlier pics aren't in the poll choice..and #7 is actually #5. Another odd thing here is the 'White Poppy'. I don't think you in the states wear a poppy to show knowledge of remembrance? We do. Britain also. Here the Poppy is a cheap plastic thing..but you can give as much as you want in a donation box. Same thing in the UK except the Poppies are hand made by volunteers and way better looking. But this year some people are wearing a WHITE POPPY...these are a peace/anti-war statement. Now any other time of the year that could be OK in a free society...but these are introduced and sold at the same time as the regular Red Poppies. It strikes me as cruel to sell them then...a supposition that all vets were war-mongers?....is hardly the case....they served their country..possibly loosing their lives or getting maimed as they did that...drafted..same thing I guess with less commitment but still in harms way. The White Poppy...any other time of the year...most of it,...but at the same time of the short lead-up to Remembrance day? I guess you have worse...that dammed preacher who is now showing up at soldiers funerals...with his small group of supporters...linking the deaths of soldiers to homosexuality?!?! Incredible....he is too old for anyone to think of harming him,..would be wrong to anyways...but he is not too old to be told by a huge number of people that he is quite despicable in his actions.

No, its not on a grave. It's pretty much an area designated for things like the cross. No one person is buried there. My dad gave me the idea for the cross. It's in the town he grew up in.

it is, but I foresee it getting closed off completely due to excessive dumping of garbage and stuff like that. Even though there is a landfill about 3 miles from there.

Voted for number 3 but my favorite is the last one with your truck next to the cross. Cross looks great by the way, that was a great ideal.
