Re: My new ride!
That truck looks brand new!
As far as the idle problem, sounds a bit like what my Ranger was doing. Played with the IAC yet?
My original IAC was overexerting itself, and couldn't hold a steady idle. It would eventually die if I didn't hold it at the correct idle manually. Dealer I bought the truck from let me swap the IAC for one from another 3.0 Ranger he had, and problem solved. Feel bad for the sucker that bought the other Ranger though.

Re: My new ride!
Sounds like the problem I was having with my idle. I cleaned the IAC and it still did it. Eh, looks like its time to replace it, haah.

IAC will cause that too. I had one go bad on my contour svt. It would idle high then drop real low and try and die. The lights would flicker and dime too. I would just replace the IAC if its the original cleaning it will only be a temp fix. They aren't real expensive and are easy to swap(2 bolts).
