By buying a Saturn

2000 SL2 1.9 DOHC Auto. 88K miles

I wanted a manual but I spent so long looking I couldn't find one in good shape or low miles close to me. So I settled for the auto so my wife could drive it if she needed to.

It's very clean. Body is in great shape for how old it is.

I will post more pictures tomorrow, but there are 2 small burns the driver armrest, other than that no other interior blemishes.

It's fully loaded too so it's a small plus.

Yea my sister has an 02 SC2 with every option except leather and a sun roof...we had a 94 SL2 make it to 163k miles..still miss that car and my dad just got a 97 with 232k miles for a winter beater

Saturn makes the ugliest cars out of any auto maker. I would never buy one.
But if looks dont matter good luck with it.

Around here they're between 2-3K. But I've seen 4K+ for really nice ones.

I got lucky. This was $3,350.

For its options, year, and miles, this was a good deal. The NADA was around $4K retail.

If you're patient you can find them for well below $2K, it may not be well equipped though.

I could have gotten a cheaper crappier one but I wanted a little more luxury and something that will last a long time.

justin one thing i highly suggest you do...flush out all the dex-cool crap and put prestone in ...dex-cool is complete shit

yea no problem...dex-cool likes to gel up and block off passages and especially the heater core...dads had no heat...flushed it and has awesome heat now

That dex cool stuff eats the aluminum up atleast in duramax engines. It will trash a water pump housing pretty quick.

Must be why I see a lot of people replacing water pumps on these cars.

I called my GM friend who also owns a Saturn. He said "Hell no I didn't replace it, Dex-cool is the shit, it's GM"

I also noticed it runs on the cool side all the time, I wonder of the Dex-cool causes that.
