my dad would kill for an old B series in that nice of shape. he had one in the late 80's, B2200, 5 speed, red, regular cab with the SE-5 sport package. truck had almost 450,000 miles when he traded it in.

I'm keeping this truck 100% original, and the 460 was dropped from the F-Series lineup for 1980, and the biggest motor was the 400. As for the E4OD, electronic transmissions were not available in 1980 either.

My old full size was a 95 Dodge Ram 1500.

Had the 318 (5.2) Magnum V8 with a 5 speed manual, Posi lock on the front axle so I could use 4WD, brand new Yokohama Geolander AT's on 16 inch wheels, Flowmaster 40 with crappy custom made exhaust that I got in a kit and that was basically it. The rear end was almost fried and it had an electrical problem that would cause it to die randomly at any speed. Even though it needed some work, I miss it but it just wasn't a big enough truck for me. I wish that I would have at least kept it as a trail rig since it wasn't exactly pretty, lol.

Uh, the 460 was used all the way up to the heavy duty's demise in 1997...

Jimmeh, don't you dare cross me on this.

Look under the engine section for the F350. You can just barely make out 4.9 300, 5.8 351M, and 6.6 400. No 7.5 460 in sight. Ford put the 460 on truck duty hiatus for a few years and then brought it back in 83 when they dropped the 351M and 400 altogether.

the ranger is my first "car" i got it for cheap and beat the shit out of it. and it never broke so i gave up trying to break it haha.

then i bought a 78' f150 and lifted/restored it

i bought this explorer in the begining of winter last year and i loved it and wish i never traded it it was like a caddy every option avaliable.

i traded that explorer for this mustang was super fast. 5.0 5 speed bored, cammed, built chassy with 9 in rear car was awesome and fun. i shuld have keep it but i thought about it and that car was way to fast for a DD and a young kid so i sold it...

now my DD is a audi yes a audi i got it stock and now i have added 20%tint all around,
B&M short throw shifter, stage 2 clutch, cat back borla exhaust. 2.8L 5speed

I just misread your post is all. I read it as you saying they dropped the 460 in 1980, not for 1980. I actually didn't know that it was deleted for a few years.

Sorry for the confusion.

lol, no problems man, hence the smileys. It was deleted for emissions reasons, and they went with the 6.6 because it was a lighter motor and had emissions stuff built in. But then new emission standards came out, and instead of re-designing the 351M and 400 to accept them, Ford just started to use the 351W in trucks, and brought back an emissions compliant 460 for the heavy duty F-Series.

i can understand that then, kinda like how i'm building my buick with the old style "nailhead" v8 instead of the newer (and better) 455.

I found some in an old photo album--pic quality isn't great-I had to scan glossies.
First car-1980 VW Rabbit-red 4 speed-no pics-bought for $1000 in 1984
Next-1986 Ford Escort GT-black 5 speed-no pics-bought brand new in '86-sold to my parents in 1989.
1985 Mercury Lynx-blue 5 speed-no pics-bought it to save money for:
1990 Ford Ranger STX reg cab/short bed, bought new- red-no pics- 5 speed, 2.9 V6-wanted a 4.0(first year), but it wasn't available with a stick-LEMON LAWED after 6 months. Turned in for this:
1991 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4-black-no pics-basically same truck as the STX, but with the 4.0-Great truck , but I made the mistake of taking the next one for a test drive:
1991 Nissan NX2000-fun little car:

Enjoyed Nissan until April of 1993 when this arrived:

1993 Ranger XLT 4x4, 4.0 5-speed, STX interior-exact same truck as the '91, except the new body style--had "DEJA VU" for a vanity plate.
Same pic but with Superlift 1.5" coils added:

How it looked before I traded it. 31" BFG A/Ts on Deer Hooves, custom exhaust, Lund tonneau and Moonvisor, Hella 500s. Traded for a brand new '97 Outback for the wife.

Don't hate on the graphics--this was the mid-nineties and thats what everyone was doing!
Wife got the new Outback, I picked up a hopped-up '84 Rabbit GTI (no pics) which i drove until I found a '93 Probe GT that was a recovered theft in Oct '97. It had 34000 miles on it when i bought it for $5500. Body was a bit rough, but mechanically it was great. Put a door and fender on it, plus the complete GT aero package. Did the timing belts, intake gaskets, and a Borla exhaust. These were taken the day before i dropped it off for paint:

After a week at a customer's body shop-$700 paint job.

Drove the Probe for 3 years, put about $2000 into it, sold it for $5000 and had this waiting for me at the dealership:

2000 XLT 4-door Supercab, DSG, 4.0/stick--loved this truck! Loaded-every option except automatic, added 245 BFGs (which ended up costing me nothing-thanks Firestone!), Gibson exhaust, BBK throttle body, Granetelli MAF, intake kit. This was stock ride height--nobody knew anything about cranking bars back then! Drove it for 4 years, sold it for $12000 and bought my '04, which i still have.
Great thread-thanks for the memories.

No pics of my '94 Buick Century

This was my base model 2005 Impala (3.4L v6) I think I worked most of the "mod bug" out of my system with this one
I added Impala SS sway bars and trailing arms, strut tower braces front and rear–BIG difference! a finned transmission pan, two-piston front brake calipers from a '98 Camaro with braided stainless steel brake lines, LSS alloy wheels (16" version of the 17" SS alloys)… and a Cold Air Intake (home-made with ABS from home depot)

A little paintwork on the brakes…

came away with a lot from insurance, almost bought it back but it was too much. used that money to put towards the ranger

my profile pic is my first truck. the thing sat by the barn for a long time at my uncle's house. i was visting an saw it. when i got back to ask him about it was gone. he sold it. i was like oh well. i think a couple of months or more go by an it reappears. sitting by the barn like last time. i ask my uncle about an it turned out that the guy who bought it. ran it up a really steep mountian in overdrive an blew out the heads. i needed something to drive an i sure didn't want a car. an it needed driver an for someone to give it another chance. so i struck a deal with my uncle to work for a whole summer an winter (90 to 100 degree heat ) (40 to -10 cold) with no pay for him to fix the heads an extra parts i might need to get running again. when ever i could save up to buy parts i would pay for them that way. the whole process to 4 years to get it to the point were is now. i learned how to work an engine with this truck an i learned how to drive a stick with it. the only other truck i drove was an 1987 ford F-150 which i also learned how to drive a stick in. i learned how drive a manual from both. sorry for the long story. lol but that is my first truck. i'll drive that thing tell either it dies or i do. lol were i put so much work in that thing. lol
