New Leer 100XR Truck Cap Pics

I'm posting these pics to hopefully help someone out, with thier Truck Cap decision making. I found when I was searching for a Truck Cap, I could find enough Ranger pics with the Leer 100R Truck Caps.

But I could find absolutly no Ranger pics with the Leer 100XR Truck Caps on to compare. (I could find pics of other makes of trucks with the 100XR on / but no Rangers)

The only real differance between the two is:

The Leer 100XR has curved all-glass rear door and center-mounted LEER flip lock.

And the Leer 100R has Recessed Framed Door with Double T-Handle Locks.

I personally liked the center-mounted LEER flip lock better (easier access, especially while holding something / one hand access) and the more sleek look and finish of the curved all-glass rear door. The only option I got was the removable slider front window.

So here ya go! Sorry about the dirty truck, the roads here are full a salt.

Not really a fan of truck caps. That one however flows with the truck perfectly. Looks like it came from the factory

I'm so pissed! I've been looking for a cap and Shane found one on CL in Portland for me. I called them up, had Shane go look at it and said good one, paid for it and Shane was going to pick it up for me. Before he could get back to pick it up THEY SOLD IT AGAIN! I will be calling them today and raise a little hell. Sad thing is that I told Shane to pick it up ASAP because the guy might sell it again, I was only kidding, damn!

That cap look really good on there. I have the 100r on my truck I think it is and i'm always being told how great it looks.

I bought this Leer cap (even though over priced I thought / at $1,600 CND ouuch! New Installed) could have done the install myself preferably, but there was no warrenty if I did(????), and no discount if I did either(????), damed if I did, so let'em do the install I figured, no lose then. Them installing for warrenty purposes made no sense to me though. As we all know alot of us, me included will be removing and installing our caps on a regular basis anyway.

I will be putting on a Backrack Safety Rack this summer / and loading the ATV in it (cap off Summer, cap on Winter, and inbetween). I like the Ranger with and without the cap. But my reasoning for it was to add the 144.5 lbs it wieghs for Snow conditions here in CND (no sand bags or bladders required then / and keeps the snow out). Plus I have the added wieght of my 31" MTR Spare tire under the truck.

As well I have two hunting dogs I like to keep warm and out of the elements during transport (there of course are other pluses to a cap, security, camping but I'm not gonna list em all, you know already!).

Here's some more pics only because my truck is clean now enjoy (as requested).

i like how the gap of the bed and the cab stay the same it dose look like its a factory thing. but i dont like tops /shells for the fact it looks like a suv now but thats my $.02.

I guess if I lived in San Jose California blueovelboy, I could probably do without the Truck Cap. But up here in Canada I think it is necessary to have one sometimes (It's a nice to have for sure / it's not like it's welded on). My preferance is a Truck with out a Cap for looks as you say. But looks are secondary sometimes. If ya gotta have one make it a good one. It's not that SUV looking I don't think (I can tell the differance).

i get the fact you do need the top for the fact the weather is less than desirable at times. i was just giving you my honest opinion on the top. hope i did not offend you and yes i would probably have to do the same thing if i lived where it snowed like you do.

Hey Jay no offence takin. I am in agreeance, it looks better without (as I stated / I do wish I didn't have to / could have spent the $1600 on something else for the truck / lift kit / UD's / Dual Exhaust......). I was just pointing out the Geograghical / Cliamte differances were we live differ. Which it looks like we both agree on as well. Hope there was no offence taken on my part either.
