Re: My Body Lift
Sweet - love it with those M/Ts! Can't bring myself to put them on my DD with the mileage I put on it though.

Re: My Body Lift
Not a fan of those wheels, but the overall makes the truck look very good imo.
I see the older step bars were as close and impractical as the new ones

The install took waaaay too long. 14 hours, not including some prep work I did prior to my buddy showing up (brake lines, steering column, taking the front bumper and tow hooks off... But we had issues with a couple bolts, had to make tools-runs to Home Depot, a return to Home Depo to get the install booklet I left there, a rain storm stopped us for over an hour and the power was out leaving us without the impact for one of the stubborn bolts. The kit had missing nuts so the bumper isn't installed all the way yet. Gonna paint the bumper brackets anyway. You can see the gold through the valance.
Wheels I got for $420 from ebay (McCormack Racing), tires were $800 at tirerack. I wanted the A/T's but BFG isn't making them in 32" right now and everybody is sold out of them (couldn't find anybody that had them anyway).
As far as the wheels. I wasn't sure I liked the black centers on the DC-2s, but after seeing them on there and looking at the trucks on here with the older DC-1s, I'm starting to like mine a bit more...but then again, it is my truck so maybe I'm a tad bias.

The new caps definately look better on a 6 or 8 lug pattern wheel. But they're growing on me.

Be careful, id almost see if you could use a DC-1 centercap because Myke (STL) said he talked to a guy the other day with the new DC2s like yours and where the center cap uses alan screws to hold it on, its cracking the clearcoat like the bolts used to do on the DC-1s.
just pm STL, and he'll tell you all about it

Re: My Body Lift
Yeah I saw his truck a couple weeks ago. That's how I knew I liked those rims. I hate to have a truck that matches other people's. I hate seeing a 4x4 XLT the same color as mine even! But as far as the similarities, not much I can do about the color. But, I can point out the differences:
I wanted teh BFG A/T's but BFG ain't making them right now
different grille
black step bars
toolbox instead of the Edge rail caps
DC-2's
no grille guard....yet...I've always wanted one
Besides, in the body lift meet thread that showed them putting the lift on, one guy said he didn't have that truck anymore. And, he doesn't live around here so as far as people here know, mine's the only one like it.
I seriously hate seeing a truck that matches mine. I had purple lights in the grille on my old '90 Ranger for well over a year (years ago). I passed a truck one day with purple lights in his grille and reached down and turned mine off. Never turned em back on again.
But yeah we have the same color truck with the same tires and very similar rims...thats it. Thanks for pointing this out. Now I'm going to put 215's on and find some 25" gold rims to throw on the truck...pictures tomorrow.
