2009 Ranger with Ford Tent...In the bed
Hey Guys
Picked up this Ford Tent for my truck a month or two ago, finally getting around to posting pictures.
Purchased for $80 off my local Kijiji. Original owner paid $250 from the dealer, set it up once in his driveway, and put it back in the bag.
Sets up super quick and easy. Comes with a fly as well as the poles needed. Straps run down the side of the bed and clip under the rockers. All straps have protective coverings on the buckles to keep scratches away.
Originally my wife and I put a single air mattess down in between the wheel wells, and placed the double mattress on top. That worked like crap. I then made a sub floor out of a pair of 2x6" cut to width, and some 3/4" plywood over them for the top double mattress to sit on. That was much better.
Have a look at the pics, they are from Bon Echo Provincial Park and Restoule Provincial Park here in Ontario. Any feedback is awesome!
Also check out the other thread on the Kayak Rack.

Re: 2009 Ranger with Ford Tent...In the bed
The Sportz III was our original choice until we found this one on Kijiji. The added leg room, and clearly added headroom would have been nice.
Ya I have seen the air mattresses that contour to the bottom of the bed. Cheapest I found was $229. The double mattress I already had, and the wood was $30.
Plus now with the false floor, we can store the fishing rods, kayak paddles, shoes, life jackets etc all underneath and out of sight.

Re: 2009 Ranger with Ford Tent...In the bed
Not bad, Might consider that since headroom is short. The original tent bag is big enough that we can stuff our current mattress in the bag with it. I cut the plywood in half and put a pair of hinges on it so it could fold in half and lay down flat in the bed during transport.

I love bed tents, it just looks so cool when you go camping and don't have to deal with all the crawlers..
Cuts a lot of humidity too.

Gotta love when you set your tent up, and you go to dive in after a few wobby pops, and your knees find a nice jagged rock! Ahhhhh camping....

Agreed!
Would be cool to camp in it during a storm, as long as theres no debrey or falling trees!

Re: 2009 Ranger with Ford Tent...In the bed
^ I can see them working on a longbed Ranger, especially the tent scott has. The entrance would just be at the end of the bed instead of the end of the tailgate.
Theyd be awesome on a fullsize truk
