Also, a tip for those who buy POR-15. Save some glass jars...either canning jars or spaghetti sauce jars. When you open the can of POR-15, pour it into the glass jars (if you don't plan on using all the POR-15 for your project). When you go to put the lid on, take clear kitchen plastic wrap a couple layers thick, place over opening of the jar, then put the lid on.
Why?...Glad you asked... If you keep it in the can and put the lid back on after using, the POR-15 will SEAL the lid to the can, making it next to impossible to remove. I've had POR-15 in 2 jars for 2 years, and the lid comes right off, and the paint is still in excellent shape.
Oh, one more thing... wear some rubber gloves when using the POR-15, cause it doesn't wash off. It has to wear off (Takes about a month)
POR15 or other products of that type is totally complete overkill for his location and mine.... And a complete waste of a decent amount of money for a can of POR. The west cost is TOTALLY different that *hello!* rustville heaven of Ohio.

Rattle can job every few years is more than sufficient for our region. Jeremy's truck and mine are probably alot like.....not one ounce of rust anywhere.

Was just trying to offer a helpful suggestion for those who drop $44 for a quart of POR, didn't realize I'd be raked over the coals for it.
And yes, I am well aware of the difference between climates, I just didn't research that the guy was from California. I have owned a 66 Mustang from the midwest, and I currently own a 66 from California... even have the black plates. It was built in San Jose on Friday the 13th of May, 1966, and was in Santa Ana until 2003.
