I just think I'll get in too much trouble with the bike. I don't think they made a speed MX-5 in this gen. I'm looking at the newer gens '06+.
I would probably turbo, maybe supercharge it down the road. I would want to fix it up, put some nice wheels on and build an incredible sound system. :-)

I think the MX-5 is just going to save me thousands. The price alone is $3k less. There's primo wheels, tires and speakers.
Plus, let's be real...when your in your car/truck, how many idiots almost kill you in that?
It can make your butthole pucker something fierce when you have a close call on a bike!
I've taken a motorcycle safety course, Smith system course, CDL school, evasive maneuver training, etc...seriously. And even with all that awareness...idiots scare the fu¢k out of me

Sounds like is a done deal.
That much hesitation/concern about a motorcycle means you shouldn't get it.
At that point its almost predetermined something bad will happen going into it worth all those thoughts and concerns.

Ultimately your choice your lifestyle.
For me i believed my odds and exposure go up with age.
I gave up riding after 3 high speed clips with unaware drivers...got my first convertible after that!
Wind in your hair and can carry a weekend full of stuff...wootwootwoot.

Married with kids. Only thing I want to attract with it, are country road twisties. Lol
That's exactly where I'm at. I've had close calls on my bike and it sticks with you...especially with kids.
Hell, I've had close calls in 5 star crash rated vehicles and still puckered my sphincter something fierce.
Then, you have this retarded generation of kids flooding the roadways more and more every year and increasingly using phones and drinking.
It's just scary out there if you sit back and watch/read the accident reports. Even worse when the title is "fatal wreck - motorcycle vs vehicle"

Scares me knowing all the money I am dumping into my 69 Mustang to get it all restored so I can drive it on weekends to possibly have some idiot wreck it because they were more interested in their phone or driving drunk then where they are going & what they are supposed to be doing.

Exactly. The wife wants us to get a classic ( 50ish Ford like on Expendables ) and I worry about spending years of sweat and blood fixing it up.
If some dumba$$ hit me and ruined it? I literally would go to jail for assault
