Want to Buy: Cheap 2001+ ford ranger

I'm looking for a cheap ranger (preferably below $2000) that does not have the torsion bars. I want to make it a father son project with hopefully a 6cyl 5 speed but auto will pass. I'm planning on making a prerunnrer look with dixon bros componets. Just so you know with that Dixon bros kit it will eliminate the traction bars so you can get an Edge model and still run the same suspension setup as you were planning. This might help you find a truck faster.

You do know that the Dixon brothers kit will only work on trucks that come from the factory WITH torsion bars? It will not work properly on a coil sprung truck. Either way, it seems that Aaron at Dixon Bros is MIA, so good luck placing an order.

The only 2001+ rangers that come with 4x4 have torsion bars, unless you are going to put 4x4 in yourself. And its not going to be an easy task to find one 2k and under.

I actually have an '04 edge 4x4. I think I'll just turn it into a IFS trail rig

I dont know what I was talking about when I said no torsion bars. I just wanted a cheap truck so I could put long travel coilovers on it and create a monster. I think I might just do it on my '04 edge 4x4.

The only reason I wanted 2wd is because the long travel kit is $1000-$1300 cheaper

Doing it with a 4x4 raises another problem. IF (big if) you get a hold of Dixon Bros, he no longer makes the extended axles for the long travel kit. Many people are waiting on axles they've already paid for, or replacements for broken ones. Aaron claims that he can no longer get the pieces machined to make the new axles, and it's doubtful he has even tried finding someone else to do it. Good luck
