Default 2000 Ranger XLT 77k, 3.0, auto, 4x4, 4 door, stepside, rebuilt salvage

I bought a Ranger last year with light front damage for use as a shop truck. I looked for a while to find a Blue 4x4 3.0 auto 4 door stepside. I put a lot of work into it to make it mechanically and cosmetically sound and have repaired many of the typical "Rangerisms". My dad bought a full size truck in the mean time that I can borrow when I need it and I have two other projects, plus I'm looking for a track car....so I don't really need it anymore. I have some posts floating around this site. You'll see that I comment about it being crusty. After scraping all of the dried out old undercoating off and oiling it, it doesn't look too bad.

It was purchased with light front end damage that included the hood, header panel, front bumper, right front fender, and right front suspension; there was no airbag deployment.

Cosmetically: All of the door bottoms and tailgate bottom seam had some rust so they were sandblasted, seam sealed and painted. The left fender wasn't damaged in the wreck but the lip had some rust so it was just easier to replace it. The rockers were beat, so they were replaced with new Ford ones. The core support was rotted out at the mounts at the bottom (like a lot of Ford trucks) and was replaced with a new Ford core support. As the pictures show, it was given a new coat of factory Deep Wedgewood Blue Metallic basecoat clearcoat with the bottom half of the truck painted with a 2000 Ranger silver. All of the wheels were corroded, so I bead blasted them and had them powder coated silver.
The interior is in really good and clean shape with the radio, and cruise working well. The interior looks and smells like a non smokers car. There is very little wear on the seats.

Mechanically: I did a ton of work to make sure it is in good running order. The oil pan was oozing around the drain plug so it was replaced. That was a huge ordeal involving dropping the entire front suspension and front differential and unbolting the transmission and sliding it back a little to get clearance to change the pan. While the suspension and differential were down I replaced the right side differential seal. Next, there was a small coolant leak from the timing cover, so the timing cover gasket was replaced. While changing the gasket I replaced the front seal, and water pump. I have also replaced the power steering pump and two of the power steering lines. Also, I have replaced the radiator and put a new Motorcraft cap on it, a new belt, idler pulley, belt tensioner pulley, air filter, rear shocks, transmission position sensor (it was stiff and hard to shift the column lever) and blower resistor. Like most Rangers, the rear leaf spring hangers were about gone, so they were replaced and a C-channel made and welded in to reinforce the frame where they bolt on. From my inspection, all of the brake hardlines were recently replaced, the front pads and rotors are near new, the rear drum shoes have a lot of pad left. I gave it a fresh Mobil 1 oil change with Wix filter, and mounted up a new set of Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires. The 4WD drops right into 4high and 4low and I just oiled the undercarriage so it should be good to go for winter. It had a front end alignment at the Ford dealer a few weeks ago. I have a new transmission filter w/ gasket and a new Wix fuel filter that will go with the truck but I don't have time to install them.

Couple issues: The ABS light is on for a left front wheel speed sensor and the A/C does not work and the rear bumper has a few light dings and the step pad has a couple gouges but no rust on the bumper (picked up a used one from a member in Florida). I do not have time to mess with them.

It's a low mile truck and I have been driving it around town for the past week and it runs straight down the road, and stops and shifts as expected with no suspension or body thumps or rattles. I have been given lots of compliments on how great it looks. It's a 12 year old truck so it's not perfect, but it drives and presents itself very well.

Please make offers but don't low-ball me; I've sold several salvage titled cars. It has a couple thousand dollars worth of maintenance and is low miles so keep that in mind. PM me for more info or pictures.

I would only consider trades for a 92-98 BMW 318is, 325is, or 328is or an early 2000's 323, 325 or 328 coupe; all with manual transmission. Wrecked, salvage or good title, and/or high miles is fine...it would be for a track car.

Damn dude; clean that engine bay! lol

GLWS; what's your asking price? (I'm not offering randomly, so don't ask me to!)

The engine bay isn't that dirty...it's an engine bay! lol. I didn't detail it like my Crossfire's.

Price is hard to pin down considering the low miles and all the maintenance I did, but the rebuilt title hurts some. A good titled one might go for $7500 with those miles and maintenance. I've sold several salvage cars @ 25% off comparable good title book value. Start at $5500.

Forgot to mention in the ad. The infamous door ajar light has been repaired. A weekend of tearing off all the door panels and the radio bezel, doing voltage and resistance checks, and running jumpers all over and tracked down a broken wire. Fixed the wire and it now works perfectly...and no dome light all the time!

Price is negotiable of course. I've got too many projects and I don't need it sitting around the driveway.
