As someone who has been around way too many shops in his life, I can attest that if someone gets their car fixed and then abandons it, said vehicle become property of said shop. Circumstances generally do not matter in the transfer of ownership. Id guess it was at a shop for the oil pump that took a dump because it was driven into the ground mechanically, the lugnut who owned it went to jail or died or got asian bird flu, and never paid for it and the shop owner wants it gone. Just a guess though.....

After reading the post, It says he rebuilt the engine. After rebuilding what is something close to 200 engines in my career, I have never seen a rebuild done without replacing the oil pump, ESPECIALLY with 196k on the ticker. I dont think its stolen, I think someone had the work done, got put away or dead, and the guy wants his dough out of it. Thats about it

I see these listings all the time on Craigslist. No title but gotta get rid of it. Generally speaking not too many people will buy a vehicle without a title. I know I wouldn't unless I was specifically looking for a parts truck.

Even if you're looking for a parts truck, if you buy one without a title to use for parts and sell some of it off, you may just have a very hard time getting it accepted at a recycling center afterwards. Most yards require a title before they'll even touch a vehicle..
