Looking to buy my first Ranger so I'm searching for a super-basic truck.
Wanna take it to the bigbox stores and teach my kids how to drive in it, so here are my requirements for the ideal truck:
- 2009/2010/2011 Ranger
- standard cab (2 door, not extended)
- 4cyl/manual transmission (no automatics)
- 4x2 (I won't go offroading with this and the few ads I've seen all seem to double the price for the 4x4)
- less than 100k miles
- prefer truck in mid-atlantic but will travel for right (and right priced) truck.

So what's out there? Anyone have a friend or older relative/neighbor with one of these "throwaway" trucks they don't need anymore?

Hello, I don't know how far are you willing to travel but there is a guy here in New York that posted on Craigslist about four or five Ranger that he's selling . I think they're all between 4 and $6,000. But they all have high miles, but he says their local miles. I think they were used for a pest control service. Oh and they all have ladder racks and a bed cap. You should look for them on Craigslist in the New York area if you don't mind the distance .
