Default Very unhappy with new shocks

I bought some Gabriel ProGuard shocks from autozone last week and installed them on my truck. They replaced the stock ones with 157k miles. These are terrible. They are extremely stiff. I just wanted something like an OEM replacement, I wasn't expecting this at all.

The front isn't so bad, but the rear is extremely harsh. I can feel every imperfection in the road. The original ones were more bouncy, but they were more comfortable for sure. Any recommendations for a softer riding rear shock?

I'm sure bilstein is nice but I can't afford them.

I just want to know if this is normal or if maybe they gave me the wrong shocks. The front is a little stiffer which is fine, it feels nice but the back is harsh.

The gabriels are great if you need more than stock. I love them because I have a plow hanging off the front and 400lbs weight in the back.

I would get the monroe shocks from advance. They are really soft, the yellow ones.

----------

did you get the black or white ones?

the black ones are softer than the white

I have the black ones.

I forgot though I accidentally threw the boxes away so I'm stuck with them for a little while anyway.
