Default Body lift rub question

Hey guy let me first start off by saying I am creating this thread to ease my dads mind. Okay let me start, he is concerned about rub issues with 3 inch BL and 33s. I have read many thread where guys do not have any issues with rub, but i want to make it easier and clearer for him to see other people run this set with no problems. So my set up; 15x10 wheels with 3-3/4 B.S., 33x12.5x15 cooper s/t, 3 inch BL (either summit or PA I dont yet). Like I said he just dose not want me to have rub issues. Can you guys chime in with you set ups and describe your clearances with 33s and a BL. Thank you guys and pictures will probably help too

MODS TO COME: pillar gauges, recover seats, stereo and that it for now ................

You will have SOME RUB.

Do u have stock fender flares and flaps?
You will have to remove your stock mudflaps...specially the front ones...
the tires will rub in the back of the wheel well on tight turns and when on uneven ground... like turning into an incline etc...

You will also need to trim your front valance.

look at this pic

Diagram Pic

Look at the front tire areas around the stock mudflaps and upper front valence.... this is fine on even ground... but on bumpy ground flexing the suspension it rubs... and more with the wheels turned.

heres the best i have with a trimmed valence and removed the stock flares and flaps and put on bushwacker flares

ALSO take in mind if u go with a wider tire that sticks out past your fenders and/or flares, u will be getting rock chips in your paint!! Trust me! Get some wider flares!

After going thru all this... i wish i had went with 32s!!!! Nice big tires still and still more wheel well room for flex!!

Also compare these pics

Explorer rims with 31"BFGs, no body lift.

Explorer rims with 31"BFgs with 3"body lift.

New 33" tires and rims with 3"body lift, and my old black aluminum topper.

O-O errr.... Would t-bar crank help this or is this including a crank?

Thanks that does help a little, more replies will still help (i am not doubting you, I just would like a larger sample size)

I know that it is just that the gas tank filler isnt correct and you have to fab your own. But if it makes my dad happier id spend the 40 extra dollars

depending on what pics... the one close up with the rear wheel well and mudflap is slightly turned...

but when the wheels are turned..its worse.... the gap narrows!

Okay thanks, ill have to look into again. I have all four 33s priced out at 767 shipped to my door. I also want agressive A/t, but not a mud tire. I like the BFG a/t but it does not channel out water likr the cooper s/t (not the mud tire)
