new to the forum, I have a 2000 ranger, 4cyl, 2wd. I had to change the starter on it so i pushed it into the garage with the truck off. Now the starter works, but the steering pump whines worse than normal and shudders like crazy. I'm guessing this has something to do with steering with the engine off....but how do I get rid of it? I took the p/s fill cap off and went lock to lock about five times (with the wheels on the ground) and nothing changed (maybe even got worse) AND i took a trip down the road working the steering but still the same....any help would be awesome!
