Leaf spring porblem solved. I ended up replacing the brackets that hold the leaf springs to the frame. Less costly than replacing the leaf spings and safer than welding the springs to the frame.
Hopefully I will be posting pictures in the spring. I hate the cold in New England.

I had a problem with my leaf springs on my 2000 XLT, v6, 4.0
The problem was that the bracket holding the leaf spring to the frame broke. I had both brackets replaced for $283.00 Just check to see if the leaf springs are the problem or maybe its the brackets. Much cheaper if its the brackets.
Truck rides better and looks much better.
