What a day yesterday was. So my father and I were knocking out the spindles like they were nothing, had the old ones off and the new ones on in less than an hour. Go to put the rotors on then the wheel bearing and it doesn't fit. New snout dia was larger. Frantically start calling all the custom bearing places around me but every single one of them are closed on weekends. Hats off to the guys at my local NAPA Autoparts went above and beyond to find the proper bearing and sleeve Guy behind the counter was measuring, remeasuring, and cross referencing other vehicles and finally put a set together for me. If I would've went to any other auto place, they would've just opened the catalog and said "nope, don't got it."

I've been driving the ranger now and my turning radius went to complete ****. Grinded off the steering stops as they were hitting my calipers and grinded some of the spindle but only helped a little. Any other ideas?

Getting an alignment tomorrow and will have more pics:

Zip tied abs sensor wire:

Brake line bracket moved, think I need to move it more

New shoes, new wheels and new lift, re-newed my love for my baby (Yes, I know I'm missing a lug and the cap)

What bearing combination did you end up with? For future reference for others

You should change your sway bar links.

Yea I noticed that the vertical shaft and plastic cover were very loose on both sides, which parts should I change?

Just go to to any auto parts store an ask for sway bar links for your specific truck and buy two there's one on each side of the sway bar that will change your steering a whole lot probably even fix the problem youre having now. Oh btw youre probably going to have to cut the old ones out at least i had to but then again mine were rusty as hell good luck

Running into another problem, no one wants to align the truck for me due to sway bar links and upper and lower control arm ball joints are finished. I checked them when installing the spindles, boots were fine and did't notice any play; is there a self test to see if the ball joints are finished? Also, is it possible to buy the upper control arm ball joint without buying the whole assembly? or is that how they come? Thanks

ball joint and arm are one piece. jack the truck up and try and then wiggle the tire to see if the ball joint moves.

Thanks, will try that tonight. Haven't researched yet but what would you say the difficulty of changing the upper and lower control arm/ joints would be?

Not that difficult. If you have a spare day and Some basic tools you can do it. There are some very good videos on youtube and good write ups in the how-to section.

x2
ball joints an rangers are fairly easy IMO. at least you don't have to drill/torch out rivets like a lot of full size trucks...
