Default 2000 Ranger 4X2 pickup, any owners have had to replace ball joints yet?

Bone stock ex. cab, only 52K miles on it, kinda dismal service from stock joints!

I don't have the same truck, mine is a1998 F150 2WD and one side got really bad at about 62K. Had all four done at the same time. I remember having to do the same for my wife's Dodge Stratus at about 35k so it's not limited to one car make. Just cheap suppliers trying to trim the budget and maximize profit!

I have a 00' 2WD V6 @ 90,000mi. I changed the upper control arms and upper and lower ball joints last week. the boots were dried out and cracked pretty badly so it needed to be done.

I haven't but the previous owner replaced the uppers. I wouldn't be surprised if the lowers needs done in the next year or two. Hope you or who ever did the removal and replacements added some grease to the new joints. They never come with enough out of the box. Only enough to assemble the units and allow them to function properly for a year or two.
