Default Inside of tires wearing

I have a 97 ranger 4x4 and it looks like it has ab a 2" lift. I can post a pic of it. I would like to find out more about what has been done to the suspension. Anyway when I bought it recently I noticed the inside of the front tires were worn smooth while the rest of the tire has about 95% tread. The wheel bearings were completely worn out and my buddy replaced them. I rotated the front tires to the back and have been driving it for a few weeks now. I dont see any signs of inside tire wearing anymore. I cant tell if the wear was because the people who owned the truck before me didnt get an alignment done right away after the lift. I checked the alignment and its perfect. Also the camber does not appear to be off either, I just dont know if that was old tire damage or if there is still something wrong with the front end.

Unless you have a laser equipped alignment shop you didn't check shit. The camber is wrong. Get a shop to do a full alignment on the TTB and pay for a lifetime one. You will be in there at least every 6 months to get it fixed.

X2

Aligning a vehicle can not be done by sight. You can get close but never exact. You need the proper equipment to do a alignment correctly.

I knew someone would say this. Lol You can get within 1/16" toe accuracy the old school way! Take the tires off, clamp a straight edge on each side and use a tape measure. Now as far as camber I dont have a way to check it, of course that caused the tires wearing. I just dont know if it was old wear before the previous owner went to get it done.

I'll have the lifetime alignment done. That sounds like a very good idea! Hope they do it on lifted trucks.

i'd kinda like to see a pic of the camber before you get it aligned.
i've been adjusting camber & toe-in on my truck the 'old school way' for years. it runs strait as a string on the road, and i've never-ever had a problem with tires wearing unevenly since i started doing my own alignment.

edit: i gots stock suspension though...

Why do you say this?

I am going to assume your truck only had leveling coils installed. If that is the case, the tires would wear on the outside (positive camber) if not aligned.

My guess what happened is that they installed the coils, had it aligned, and then the coils settled. When the coils settled it would have caused the the negative camber issues you have. Negative camber will wear your tires on the inside.

You need a real alignment by a shop that knows TTB front ends.
