Default How much tire can i use on my Ranger

I just bought a 2008 ranger with torsion bars in front and leaf springs in back. It has the 2.5 duro torq diesel with the bosh turbo. I am new to Ranger and i want to say hi and appreciat any help.

I am a outdoors guy and like the mountains here in Thailand but the ranger is too low to the ground. I want to put at least 30" tires on her and lift it some.

The guy at the tire shop said he could adj the bars in the front and lift the rear for 60 dollars.

Is this good? Will it hurt the ride? I really nead the extra lift. I hit bottom on the last trip many times and wrecked my front plastic bumper.

Thanks, Gary

Guys in North America crank the torsion bars all the time to get lift.

You will need a alignment after you do it though

T bars are easy to crank up (I am assuming they are basically the same set-up as here in the states...), you can do it yourself with a simple set of sockets. I didn't get an alignment after cranking mine and haven't seen any unusual wear on my tires...but others have. Not sure what size tire as you probably have the model they sell everywhere but in the states.

Thanks everyone. I am originally from the states. But I have never seen the Ranger in the Turbo diesel. So i don't know about these things. As i do not speak the language here well. I am at the mercy of the mechanics here. I have read it is easy to change the settings on the front here. I will post a pic of it when finished with the tires and other things. As the mountains here are pretty rugged. It is taking a beating. But so far i am very pleased.
