Angry Annoying squeaky front end...??

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger and It has an annoying squeak in the front end when going over bumps or steering. What would this be and could I repair it myself or does it need to go into the shop? thanks so much.

Most likely ball joints. How many miles you have on it?

You can do it at home. You'll need to get the press if you don't have one, but you can borrow them from the auto parts store rather than buy. I think there's a couple of threads on here about doing it, and I think one of them links to a How To on another site.

Its really gonna be your ball joints my ranger does that to its kinda complicated and expensive you cant just buy ball joints alone at a auto store you have to buy upper control arms as well because the upper ball joints are hydraulically pressed in. Upper control arms can cost about 80 to 100 bucks ball joints bout 20 a piece your also gonna need a pickle fork snap ring pliers and a ball joint compressor which you can rent at autozone for 13 like dollars. Your really gonna want to get that fixed soon though cause if your ball joints fail and they can at any time you lose all steering. I would also recommend doing it yourself, if you take it to a shop it will cost alot
