Default Lowered 2wd help

Hey Guys,

I have a 96' 2WD lowered. I want to raise it back to stock or lift it to the best looking height that won't murder my MPG and that looks best for a 2WD. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on what I should do, and how to go about what I want to do. Thanks guys!

why would you like to do this? you can make it stock again by taking off the flip kit and putting the leaf springs back on top of the axle. mpg will stay the same either way, same gear ratio, same tires, same engine.

B/c I never wanted it lowered to begin with. This use to be a show truck and my an ex step parent bought it because he wanted it. I always wanted a bigger truck (being from the country a low riding truck with slicks isn't always the best on the land if that makes sense) So i am wanting to do that for personal reasons.

ahh i see. so yea take off the flip kit in the rear, thatll take care of the back. for the front, go to a junkyard and get some original i beams. when you take off the front lowering beams, sell them. theyre worth a pretty penny. say $200 if you wanna turn em quick. i wouldnt ask more than $300 though. depends on the shape.

I'd try to find someone local who wants to lower their truck. Trade parts straight up, or since lowering kits cost $$ maybe you can make a few dollars. If possible swap parts with the vehicles side by side so there aren't any unexpected issues. If you're not handy with a wrench, get the other guy to do all the work in exchange for the lowered parts. Good luck!
