I went to replace the front struts today, when i realized one of them seemed disconnected..
after some digging around i figured out that the strut bracket broke off, and now theres a small hole where it was, and it's still connected to the old strut.

Idk what to do, i was gonna ask some a buddy to weld it on but i didn't know it that would work well enough to hold the wait of the car/strut..

I'm not sure where to start but i have to drive with only one strut until i can fix it. (Is that terrible?)

Bump, i was thinking of drilling into the arm that holds the bottom bracket and putting a piece of metal there, and then just a bolt to hold the bottom part of the shock. but will drilling into that arm make it weaker? it's already a little rusty..

anyone?

some pics would help. a year make and model would be nice too.... also 2wd or 4wd

It's a 1996 ranger xlt, 2.3 5 speed, 2wd.

I fixed it, there is a bolt that you can buy. anyone that finds this, google broken shock mount, there's a replacement part for around 6 bucks, at auto zone
